About me
As a history major I am passionate about spreading my love of American Colonial history. As a social historian I often find my self deep in the web of journal articles or history books on early settlers. Graduating from Brock University in 2018 I have a desire to share this knowledge with the new generation of students.

Philosophy of Education

Throughout my experiences so far as an education student, I have learnt that every child learns at their own pace and processes information at different speeds and in their own way. It is hard to tailor information for a group of children all with individual needs. Some require more one-on-one time with an ECE or assistant, while others want to be completely independent. As an educator, I strive to encourage students to seek out clarification from fellow classmates, prior to seeing a teacher because each student may offer a unique stance on how to do a task or how they understood material. My educational experiences shaped my desire to follow in their footsteps because of their compassion and understanding that they showed towards me when I was not understanding the material. Oftentimes I was given up on which led me to give up on myself, however my grade 5 teacher reached out and guided me through the difficult things that I could not understand. The compassion she showed towards not only myself but my family inspired me and grew a desire in me that I wanted and could do the same for future students. With reasoning, understating and a willingness to take the time and help each student is something that I hope I can fulfill in my placements and the future classroom.
